A viewing platform located alongside the crystal clear Mackinac Creek allows you a front row seat to nature's marshland symphony, featuring the music of tuneful songbirds and croaking frogs.

Crystal clear Mackinac Creek meanders through an expansive grassy marshland before entering Mackinac Bay along Highway 134 between Hessel and Cedarville. The marshlands along Lake Huron support a wide variety of aquatic life, most of it hidden beneath water or amid the vegetation. Watch for bald eagles, osprey, black terns and other marsh birds and listen for croaking frogs. A viewing platform adjoining the road offers outstanding views of the creek, marsh, bay and islands beyond. Interpretive signs provide additional background on this important habitat.
